Security update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 (KB970892) continually fails to install, what can I do to overcome this ?

The update has tried to install automatically dozens of times but it keeps failing, is there something I can adjust that will enable this to install. I have reasonable computer skills but I am by no means good at this, I will need step by step assistance,

and full explanation of acronyms.
