I've not received any updates on any Windows 8 apps in a month, why?

In December I purchased a new laptop with Windows 8 installed on it. It's worked fine, but I've noticed that I've not received any updates, for any Windows 8 apps I have installed on it, in at least a month. This includes things like the Mail and Maps

apps, which I know have been updated in the last week or two. Why aren't I getting any upgrades to anything?
