windows 7 DVD DRIVE ERROR MESSAGE

Hello.        when trying to copy files to a DVD disc i keep getting the following error message " This DVD-ROM drive is read only.You can copy files to this writable DVD but you must insert it into a writable drive" .The drive IS writable and this message has only

just appeared for no apparent reason .Sometimes files are partially copied then i get this message and sometimes the message appears without attempting to copy files at all but i am told that files are waiting to be written to a disc. I have tried uninstalling and re installing the drive and shutting off the computer and restarting it but nothing will cure the problem.Searches on the internet show that other people are having exactly the same problem but there seems to be no solution.Any

body have any ideas?.The only other information i can give is that i have a ACER EXTENSA 5235 running WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64bit.          Any help or advice will be appreciated.Thank you.
