Vista Computer Won't Recognize Installed HP1020 Printer

My husband's Vista computer does not recognize an installed HP1020 printer.  Control Panel shows it installed, but the "print" function won't select the printer, it keeps asking for us to choose a printer.  There is only one user, NO NETWORK, one printer

installed, and he can't print anything!  He particularly needs to print things from the Internet (research, etc.).

 

HELP!
