HELP!!! Am able to run scan with MSE, but updates haven't installed since 4-1-13!

Error code:  0xc80003f3

Last version:  1.147.8330, created on 4-1-13 @ 2:52 am

 

In trying various troubleshooting methods I discovered that Windows Update is not working either, and is apparently needed for MSE to update correctly.  How do I solve this?  I ran a full scan on Malwarebytes and nothing was detected.  I don't know how to

get Windows Update working.  Also tried renaming Software Distribution folder and was denied access using the method in the MSE Troubleshooter.
