windows xp windows setup the file dac2w2k.sys is corrupted on xp reinstall

have a genuine copy of windows that use to be installed on the computer that i am trying to re install it on. Other people tried to fix the crash that i created, 4 years ago, i have the 6 boot setup disk i created back when at some point for the same copy that

i have installed on different hard drives in the same computer. I am pretty sheer i have one more time that this copy i have can be installed one more time that i remember. file dac2w2k.sys msg keeps coming  up no matter what i try. Guess i need to know if

hard drive can be used or how to find out if its bad, I used sea tools disk wizard on it several times with no fix but have not tryed dynamic overlay feature. I'm a bit computer literate hope someone can help me because i have not been able to figure it out.
