Hello everyone,

I've just upgraded my PC (almost a full build - new motherboard, processor, memory and graphics card) and done a clean installation of Windows Vista Home Premium x64, but I'm finding it impossible to update windows and therefore make use of it! :-(

When I try it does a few updates but then gives the error message "Windows Modules Installer stopped working and was closed", the update does nothing for a while and then my PC reboots. Windows then tries to find a solution to the problem, giving the error

dialogue below:

"Problem signature:  Problem Event Name: BlueScreen  OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3  Locale ID: 2057

Additional information about the problem:  BCCode: 24  BCP1: 00000000001904AB  BCP2: FFFFF980120C8418  BCP3: FFFFF980120C7DF0  BCP4: FFFFF98000950EB2  OS Version: 6_0_6000  Service Pack: 0_0  Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:  C:WindowsMinidumpMini041313-01.dmp  C:UsersLiamAppDataLocalTempWER-72166-0.sysdata.xml  C:UsersLiamAppDataLocalTempWER3561.tmp.version.txt"

If I then try to restart my computer it tries to install the updates while Windows is trying to shut down, but after a while it blue screens.

My computer build is as follows:

CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 450

GPU - XFX AMD Radeon HD 7850 1GB

Memory - 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866MHz

Hard Drive - 1TB Samsung HD103UJ

Motherboard - Gigabyte 970A-DS3

I was so excited to try out my new PC build, I'd love to be able to get this problem sorted! Any help you guys can offer would be fantastic!

Liam
