The Epson support team has given all the help they can and suggst trying it on another computer. I have, and it works fine. So the problem must be with the PC. I would appreciate any advice or help on how to go about resolving this problem. Thanks in advance RAS

Can you do a self-test on it? What happens when you try to print? Error messages? Have you tried a) uninstalling and re-installing, b) a new printer cable (yes they can go) or c) a different USB port (assuming a USB connection as most home printers seem to have nowadays)? HTH

Stopped it after 30 odd pages being replaced twice. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing at least twice.. The test page does not work although appears in the print queue. Epson tech help say it is my PC The printer cable works fine on a laptop. I have tried changing to a differrent USB port. I have had somewhat similar problems with a HP scanner. > Thanks for replying RAS

Hence what you have is a hardware problem. Uninstalling and installing the software will have no effect on a hardware issue. Also, since you have the same difficulty with a scanner, it would seem that the PC is at fault. You should disconnect the printer from the computer and from the AC. Then install a short wire between the two blades on the AC plug. Hold down the power on button for several seconds. You may also have the same thing happening in your computer. Disconnect the computer from all devices and from the AC power. Then hold down the power on button for several seconds. These two steps may solve your problem. It is however necessary to try this method as one further step towards a solution. Jim

Disconnect it from the printer and try printing that test page. If that prints bad, then you at least know it's the printer and not the PC. Or vice-versa. It's strange Epson support didn't have you do that. If you meant in another post that the scanner is the same way, then it's more likely you have a computer hardware problem. USB, parallel port, whatever it's connected with. But you never give any useful info, so ... . HTH Pop`
