Win Wiper Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) I have an old Compaq Presario Celeron 500 desktop PC and I have recently removed the old hard drive that had Win XP on it and I installed a new hard drive that I have just loaded Win 2000 Professional onto but when I start the PC instead of Win 2000 starting automatically I see "F1 Boot" and "F10 Compter Setup" (or to this effect) appearing and when I select "F1..." Win 2000 starts as it should start. Win XP started automatically on the old hard drive. I want Win 2000 to start automatically as it should do i.e. without the F1 and F10 options screen. Could the problem be jumper positioning at the back of the hard drive? Looking forward to your help. Edited November 23, 2008 by Win Wiper Quote
RandyL Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Hi Win; Try F10 Compter Setup to enter the BIOS and see if the hard drive is listed as the first boot device.
