installed app on windows 8 two months ago but can't install on windows8 device today

My frien got an Asus Vivotab Sart two or three months ago and was able to install an app  that runs fine. For that very resin I bought the same tablet and tried ti install the same app but it will notrun. She also tried to reinstall hers in attempt to

walk me through it but it will not install for her now. Was there an update in the past few months to Windows 8 that may be prohibiting us from installing?
