Guest Terri Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 When I started my computer this morning, I recd a Microsoft page instead of my homepage that said to download IE7 Service Pak 2 for Windows XP. I am running 7.0.5730.11 Update Version 0. Is this a new service pak? Should I install it? Thanks!

Are you absolutely, positively sure what you saw was a "Microsoft page?" Could be a virus masquerading as Microsoft encouraging you to do something wicked.

AFAIK it isn't called "IE7 Service Pack 2" and I wouldn't expect a webpage to pop up about it. We would need to know the exact url of the page from the OP. My understanding is that the new build of IE7 will be rolled out during Windows Updates per usual. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers http://www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" Previously, I declined to install IE 7.0 when it was first available. Another notice of its availability came up on my PC this past Monday. Nothing indicated its was newer version from the intial notice. So, I thought windows update was brain-farting... Dave
