windows vista How to send Photographs.

I wrote my friend an email, then went into my photo gallery and printed off 3 photos to include in the email.  Although the 3 photos went horizontally across the top of the email, I then sent it to her.  When I looked at the email that I'd sent her, the

photos were from top to bottom, through most of my email wording, quite cutting off most of the wording. What's to do.  Why don't the photos go across the top of the email.
