"Restart your computer to install updates" on Windows 2008 R2 Server Standard.

This is an endless loop and I have tried at least a dozen thing to resolve and none have worked... I have done the registry hack, the steps to reset Windows Update etc.. all in various steps and nothing. Reboot, hit Windows Update and I am right back to

this warning to restart to install important updates.

 

I have seen countless people on the net with this issue and I have tried all of the various workarounds, no luck. I need this fixed. Microsoft, please respond. I am a Network Engineer with 20+ years of experience and have never had this much trouble with

Windows Update until now.
