Is lsass.exe in windows 7 safe?

I´ve got a HP Pavilion dv4-2080br Entertainment PC with Windown 7-64 bits installed.

 

In a research for the utility of this executable file, I found o lot of comments that it can be a virus, spyware, trojan or worm! (http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/lsass.exe.html).

 

The lsass.exe program starts when I boot my PC. Is this program safe? If not, how can I remove it?
