Files inside folders always appear as "Details"

Hello, As of three days ago every time I open any folder all the files inside that folder appear as “Details”. I prefer to view these files as “List” and if I change the view to “List”, the next time I start up my PC all the files inside

the folders are once again viewed as “Details”. Is there any way to correct this so that files are always viewed as “List” (unless I change them, of course)? Any help/suggestions would be most appreciated. I use Windows 7 Home Premium Version 6.1. Thank you.
