Guest CM Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Re: RE REBOOT on error 1. Right-click My Computer. 2. Select Properties. 3. In the System Properties, select the tab Advanced. 4 In the box called Startup and Recovery, click Settings. 5 A new window will open: 6. Uncheck the box "Automatically restart" in the group System Failure 7. Confirm the changes in both Windows by clicking OK. <bill@love.ranch> wrote in message news:oqlcg3d7tnr7mp91aabjtf7rh37pt67n3g@4ax.com... > I'm having a senior moment RE REBOOT on error. > > where do I set this not to reboot on critical error? > > thx

Guest Gerry Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Re: RE REBOOT on error Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced, Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before Automatically Restart. Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure until you have resolved the problem. Check for variants of the Stop Error message. An alternative is to keep pressing the F8 key during StartUp and select option - Disable automatic restart on system failure. -- Hope this helps.
