Continually asking for restarts - twice each time.

Samsung Chronos 7 i5 processor running windows 8 with Classic Shell to force desktop mode. Since applying 2 Intel updates around a month ago, when machine comes out of hibernation, it asks for "you must restart your computer to apply these changes". If I

restart it then comes back with the same message. This time if I restart the message doesn't appear. So two restarts required to clear the message. I have often checked the update history and usually no update has been applied. Have tried turning off automatic

updates but problem still there. Have run windowsupdate.diagcab which showed 2 problems but seemed to fix them (next run showed no problems).
