Every time I power up, I get an error message inviting me to send it to Microsoft. It says "Some unexpected errors have happened to software you recently used." The message for MS is always the same:

"The error report contains the following file:

NDP1.1sp1_KB2742597_X86_wrapper.log version.txt"

When I switch the computer off, there is always an update to download, which I have assumed is meant to deal with the error. How can I find out what is generating the error? My version of Windows is XP. Is there a way of checking that

the update is the same every time?
