Hello. ;I'm sure this is an age-old question.my computer is stuck at  'Missing or corrupt <windows_root>system32hal.dll' and I.dont have the recovery disks.  It's an HP pavillion dv 9000 windows XP Media Center Edition.I chose to go into f 11 and do

a PC recovery and that's completed except it freezes at a small windows XP icon.  then when I try to reboot it it stops at the windows 32 missing DLL. Hal.  Help
