fatal error c0000034 applying update

Ok, so this is new. Since I bought this computer and started using Windows 8, I have had nothing but issues with updates. Now with this latest batch of updates computer has crashed 3 times today. When I try to use the F1 shortcut to safe mode to stop it.

The computer goes into a repair mode for an hour. At first I was getting the fatal error c000003a applying update operation 391 of 140637 (cdd.dll) after a repair it changed to c0000034 error. I currently have about 30 important installs waiting and over 100

optional installs waiting because I have to install 1 at a time. I say about 95% of the time the installs fail and am getting VERY upset. I spend about 4 hours a weekend trying to install a random update. I know you will tell me to reinstall windows 8... To

bad, I can't because there was no disk with the laptop. Good job Lenovo... So I am guessing I have a $2000 paperweight and have to spend $500 on a worthless program???? NO THANKS... What the hell can I do? FYI I have been waiting 4 hours for windows to come

up and I don't expect it to.
