I have a Windows7 PC and have no connection to the internet using an Ethernet Cable to my Linksys RTP 300 Router.

Using the troubleshooter to resolve this  I got the message "A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken".

Using the same cable but connecting direct to my Huawei B260a modem I can get an internet connection or if I use an internet powerline adapter, instead of the Ethernet Cable,

between my PC and router  I can get an internet connection.

Hope someone can make sense of this because my preferred option to connect to the internet is by using the Ethernet Cable and my Router.
