My initial problem was that the User Profile Logon service was not loading my profile. So, I tried to boot in safe mode via F8. However, that brings me to a screen with "No Bootable Devices Found" and a menu for F1 (retry boot) F2 (BIOS) F5 (scan). F1 does

not work and F5 said it passed all tests. F2 brings me to the BIOS menu where pressing exit allows me to reboot and at least show the Dell startup screen and access the F12 menu. (Trying F8 again or doing nothing on the Dell startup screen will lead me to

the No Bootable Devices screen) From the F12 menu, I selected the first boot option which was the hard drive. From there, it boots Windows and takes me back to the login screen where I get the User Profile error again.

It it is not a problem with the system not recognizing the hard drive. I checked in the BIOS menu and all hard drives are enabled. Plus, using F12 and selecting the first option allows for me to at least get to the normal login screen.

More important info: I've tried every possible way of mashing F8 (1 second intervals and very rapidly) It never shows the advanced options or the boot menu screen. I have an administrator account and could easily fix the original problem by booting in safe

mode and then from there logging in with the administrator account. Also, I could try to modify the user profile altogether, but I don't want to mess with my computer lol. This is a fairly new computer and has been working fine for the past half year, though

we have been having problems with the old computer before he got this one.
