windows 8 How do I make sure Windows 8.1 doesn't install itself on my computer once I start getting the 4 hour

I just got a popup saying that Windows was going to update to 8.1. There was a dropdown menu giving me the choice to do the upgrade now, or in 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours. I cannot state this strongly enough - I CANNOT DO THE UPGRADE TO 8.1!!!! I've tried it before

and my computer hangs in the middle, then I have to take it to Geeksquad or somewhere to get it working again.

 

THAT CANNOT HAPPEN. This is my work computer, and I cannot lose the ability to use it. I don't want to pay someone to do the upgrade for me, so I want to stay at windows 8.1 until I'm ready to leave my computer somewhere to have the upgrade done.

 

I've previously paid to have it upgraded, then had to refresh windows which turned my computer back to windows 8 and screwed up tons of work I'd done geting my computer set up so I can use it.

 

How can I stop the upgrade from happening before I'm ready?
