Today I noticed a new Windows icon in the toolbar. I was not pleased by this because it is not something I need to deal with. I checked Windows Update and saw that a marketing advertisement for Windows 10 is imploring me to reserve my copy. I do not intend

to upgrade to Windows 10 because I vehemently disagree with Microsoft's push to integrate smart phones, tablets, and PCs in one smart phone GUI, which started in Windows 8. I will keep one PC running Windows 7 for music and other files, but I will move to

Linux for the most part after Windows 7 is no longer supported.

Find another way to market your new OS. Don't abuse Windows Update or the toolbar. Return it to the previous scheme where available updates are visible when Windows Update appears. Make Windows 10 an optional update. Eliminate the toolbar icon (yes, I know

I can hide it but I want it gone from my PC).
