Display only working in safe mode

My name is Ben and yesterday I tried to install the latest driver of my NVIDIA 6600 and it failed. When I rebooted the screen would be black when going to the login screen but I can hear sound and the computer responds. I can boot into safe mode fine. When

I go into device manager it says I have a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. I tried to update the driver and it finds the driver but gives me the error The extended attributes are inconsistent. Please help! I am running windows Vista SP2
