This is my first time posting but read these forums all the time. I will try to be specific. This is a friends computer it is a HP G60 laptop running Vista Home Premium version 6.0.6002 service pack 2 build 6002. I got this computer to clean it out and

generally make it run right. I started by removing the approximately 10 or more toolbars. Deleted many questionable programs. Installed Norton Comcast Internet Security Suite. Then began the several hundred it seemed microsoft updates. Also updated Norton

at the same time Installed piroform Defraggler. and defragged over night. I also did updates to all the HP drivers from the computers HP webpage. No no problems until windows updater was down to two important and 2 optional updates. I worked out those problems

. Everything is working nice also Norton found several threats including SAPE.IBryte.6d. Not sure thats exactly right since I had not set up printing yet. This and several others were actually found by Norton Eraser. It also found ilivid.com a threat and deleted

it. CC Cleaner found over 1000 registry errors. I later revoved CC cleaners. Just to be sure it was all good before I gave it back to her I downloaded Microsoft Safety Scanner. I ran the full meal deal. It took about 9.5 hours to complete. It then said what

I said in the title of this post. It hadfound Trojan:SymbOS/Fontal.B, It did not give the location of the file which I found slightly odd. It also said that it had been partially removed? what does partially remove mean? Just enough to **** it off? It then

goes on to say that it can be detected and removed by Defender, Security Essentials and the Safety Scanner. It did not say partially remove it either. Since I have Norton installed I can not reenable defender or the windows firewall. I also know that 2 antivirus

programs do not play nice with each other. I plan on removing Norton and installing Security Essentials and running a full scan. I also have keystroke Scrambler and Revo Uninstaller installed. Any ideas? I would appreciate any input or suggestions.
