Unable to uninstall KB2966826 on Surface Pro 3

Afternoon

 

We are experiencing the dreaded KB2966826 update being installed before .net 3.5 is activated. Our issue is there appears to be no way to uninstall KB2966826 to allow the install of 3.5.

 

This is on a Surface Pro 3, and looking in the Uninstall an Update window, I can see it was shipped with it installed. There is no option to uninstall within the update, and running "wusa /uninstall /kb:2966826" causes a Catastrophic failure error: 0x8000ffff

. As it was shipped with it installed, there is no restore point to use, and KB3005628 only works for KB2966827 and KB2966828 , not KB2966826.

 

 

Is the a manual way to remove, or an KB like KB3005628 that targets KB2966826?

 

I am quite peeved it was shipped with the update installed. Pretty much makes the machine broken out of the box for our uses.
