Firstly, I have an Acer Aspire V3 571. It came with windows 8. I've had the laptop for more than 2 years now and the problem seems to be getting worse and worse. Everything worked flawlessly for the first year and I only started experiences some issues once

I switched to Windows 8.1. After receiving multiple crashes every week, I decided to reset my laptop to factory settings so I can go back to Windows 8. Turns out, that Windows 8.1 wasn't the problem since they continued to occur on 8 as well. A year from

that point and I've reset my laptop twice now but the problem has not gone away. I made sure it wasn't a virus as well since I only downloaded the bare minimum I need for my daily activities which revolve around google chrome and hangouts.

I've also faced another problem. Since the Windows 10 update is around the corner, I tried updating to 8.1 again so I could reserve Windows 10. But the problem now is that I can't even install that update. After a lengthy install I received an error (0x7007001F-0x30018).

Any help would be appreciated. If I could somehow fix this problem it would be awesome. Thanks.
