Dangerous Dave Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hello! I am currently experiencing a problem where my wireless connection drops off when I insert a disc into the disc drives or a memory stick into a USB port. I have never had this problem before, and none of my mates have seen/heard of this. Can anyone help? I'm running XP Home SP3 and the adapter is a Linksys Wireless G 2.4ghz Thanks for looking!!! Dalo Harkin Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 How are you connecting to the router - USB or Ethernet? It is odd that its dropping off - is it ADSL or CABLE? It just seems like some of the settings are out. Dangerous Dave Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 Thanks for the reply. The Router is a Home Hub based in my Lounge, and I am using a Linksys Wireless adapter to connect to it. The Router doesn't drop off or lose any connection, its just my machine.... Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 You need to reinstall the drivers for the network adapter - if its a USB stick or an add in card then you need to uninstall the drivers VIA device manager and when you REBOOT they will be detected - or you can use the CD that came with the adapter/card Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
