Guest simonc Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I've just discovered a 2GB file in c:\WINNT called MEMORY.DMP which is dated March 2006. Presumably whatever problem prompted the dump it is long-since sorted. Is there any danger in deleting this file? Grateful for advice.

Guest John John Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Re: MEMORY.DMP There is no danger deleting the file, you should bypass the Recycle Bin for this large file, hold down the Shift key when you delete. Guest John Barnett MVP Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Re: MEMORY.DMP Memory dumps occur when things go wrong and can be used for diagnostics by Microsoft. The only problem is they can be extremely large, taking up considerable space.
