DEAD DUCK NEED HELP

My windows xp was pre-installed on the ACER laptop when I purchased it. I

took it into work for a cleaning- meaning remove useless old files to clear

space. Next thing I know my office tools are not working indicating they are

missing file Pro.MSI file. Not being able to locate this file AND desperate

to get back to work I decided to back everything up and try and restore my

system from the ACER recovery disks. This is not working. I tried to

uninstall office xp and on reinstall am told I am currently working off a

more current version and it cant install the older one. WHAT DO I DO?????

If Windows is working properly on your machine and if your problem

is with MS Office then your best bet is to post your question in an

MS Office newsgroup. That's where the MS Office experts hang out.

RE: DEAD DUCK NEED HELP

More than likely you are trying to install from a version that has sp1 and

the existing version has the latest service packs, see if you can do a

slipstream and incorporate the latest service packs into your office install

disc. or completely remove office from your system and all traces and

reinstall.
