Guest Mark G. Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 How do I rename a windows xp pro home network domain? Have two computers that can not see one another because of this. For some reason, when installing xp on one, I called it something other than the default. Called it MSHOME. So I have one that is called MSHOME and one called WORKGROUP. I can not seem to figure out how to rename one so that I can fileshare across a home network via a router. Any help here please? Also, does it really matter what the name is as long as it matches? Thanks much for your help.

You can, however, change the WORKGROUP a computer with XP Home uses.
