Guest kancho Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Error Pic: http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1865/drivererrormsgyp5.jpg System Info: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600) DirectX Version 9.0c Greetings, I’m having a problem installing a driver for my USB device(Playstation Portable). I’ve downloaded the driver from 3 different sources, plus had a friend verify it on his PC so I know for a fact that the driver works. Is there a way to install it manually using CMD or modifying the Registry? Can Devcon install the driver? If so, please post the commands for it. Any help is appreciated.
Guest matt hopkins Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Re: Driver Installation Problem not seeing the driver i cant tell if this would work but sumtimes you can go into the folder and find the .cab file usually with driver inside and extract them "kancho" <kancho@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B07DEAB7-689C-4F04-A110-3B7009880A48@microsoft.com... > Error Pic: > http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1865/drivererrormsgyp5.jpg > System Info: > Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600) > DirectX Version 9.0c > > Greetings, > > I’m having a problem installing a driver for my USB device(Playstation > Portable). > I’ve downloaded the driver from 3 different sources, plus had a friend > verify it on his PC so I know for a fact that the driver works. > > Is there a way to install it manually using CMD or modifying the Registry? > Can Devcon install the driver? It could help if the drivers were installed to the proper place, but Windows doesn't look there. XP asks for USB drivers: http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtrouble_e.html#xp_asks_for_drivers -- Joe =o)
