Guest DonElston Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 I have turned off to install an update at least 20 times and I always get the same message after rebooting. I have no Idea what this update is but it has been present for quite a while. It does go throught the "Installing Update 1 of 1" and the do not turn off screens, but it appears that it does not install.
Guest chusome Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Re: Turn Off to Install Updates - constant Try the following: 1. Boot into safe mode. 2. Find the folder named Software Distribution. 3. Rename SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistribution.old OR Delete all its contents (FLUSH it !) Reboot. 4. Run windows update On Oct 7, 12:09 pm, DonElston <DonEls...@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > I have turned off to install an update at least 20 times and I always get the > same message after rebooting. > > I have no Idea what this update is but it has been present for quite a while. > > It does go throught the "Installing Update 1 of 1" and the do not turn off > screens, but it appears that it does not install.
