twoinbambed Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Hi, just wondering if any of you could help... I have two PC's boths hooked up together via an Twisted pair cable (Or at least I think that's what it is, it's a yellow cable connected between both of the computers) but I've had a few problems, I click on Set up a Network in the My Networking Places Folder, I do everything on each of the PC's but it doesn't seem to work, it either : Doesn't find anything, Stalls for a while (when going in to the Entire network folder) and then doesn't find anything or finds something but then looses it! I've tried almost everything, replacing the cards on each PC, checking the cable, changing it, adding and removing the hardware, everything! I was wondering if you guys could help? Quote
Jelly Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 your cable will need xover cable not a standard n/w lead Quote
maynardvdm Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 xover meaning cross over. if you connect just the two pc's you need a cross over utp cable. :-) Quote We are all members helping other members.
