Quacker Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I've used it for a while now, using 3.0.4 now and no issues. Was wondering what add-ons others use, or whether best to leave well alone. I just like the idea of new toys ;) Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 The only add-on I use is the Dictionary Steve. Quote
Frank Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 After my recent problem with malware and finding that others who visited a certain forum experienced the same problem when using IE but not those using Firefox I've just joined the darkside.:) Now to add-ons the only one I've tried so far is: EasyList Filter Subscriptions for Adblock Plus - rick752 Have to say I'm impressed, some of the sites I now visit are not recognizable as the same sites. Oh and I find firefox much quicker that IE too. All you IEr lovers please don't jump on newly converted Firefoxer;) Quote THEY MADE ME DO IT.
Plastic Nev Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Addblock plus is a real boon when all you want to see is the page of interest. Not only does it block unwanted adverts, but also because it does so, it is helping to screen you from some of the odd nasties that land on your desktop via the adverts. Being British I also have the British English dictionary, which helps to keep the language English via the normal spell checking function. (the odd Americanism still gets through now and then though.) I also have McAfee site advisor 26.6, this shows green on the right of the bottom status bar when on a safe site, or orange where there is a risk and red for definitely unsafe sites. BeeCeeBee Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Who are you calling an Odd Americanism ??? You talkin to me? You talkin to me? (you will have to add the DiNiro voice on your own.) Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
Goku Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 AdBlock Plus is an excellent add-on for Firefox and is a must-have, in my opinion. There are plenty of other add-ons such as No Script and Coolris but I wouldn't install them unless I use them extensively. Thus, the simple solution is to install whatever you will rely on most and filter out the unnecessary bulk. :) -- Goku Quote
steve2303 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Highly recommend Foxmarks This keeps all your Bookmarks synchronized with Firefox so that your favourite websites are always backed up and stored online. Quote
