Extending a system partition

I currently have Win2003 server with a mirror, partitioned as C:system and

D:Data.

I need to increase the space available on both drives so have installed two

new hard drives as a seperate mirror.

My plan is to copy the data to the new drive, rename the old D: and then

rename the new mirror to D:

I then want to extend the system drive. My plan here is to break the mirror,

delete any partitions on the second drive and then, from a dos boot, clone

the old C: partition to this new larger drive. I intend to then remove the

first drive and start the OS. Then use the disk tool to delete old C: and D:

and create a new mirror with effectively the "new" drive.

I plan to use Ghost to do the cloning.

Are there any reasons why this won't work?

I was unable to completely follow the path you outlined but in

general it looks fine, with these reservations:

- I do not use Ghost. Does it work with servers?

- Your new system disk may end up having the wrong drive

letter. Have a look here for a recipe to fix this problem:
