Andrea31 Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Am using Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and have over 1 month left on my subscription but am today am getting "Database is obsolete" and will not let me update - the update gets to 21%, quickly jumps to 100% and then still says obsolete and asks me to update?!?! I have ran ATF Cleaner, Malywarebytes and SuperAnti spyware and re-started pc loads of times but is not resolving and now my pc has no protection whatsoever. In the last month or so, it was saying something like database is out of date and again wouldn't let me update but I found running those above 3 packages and re-starting would resolve it, but not this time. Months ago I DID try to post on Kaspersky forum but despite logging in, it wouldn't allow me to post so I emailed the administrator as it asked me to do if that were to happen but no-one ever bothered getting back to me so I am quickly losing faith in Kaspersky . . . Would be grateful of any help . . . . Quote

Andrea31 Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 Hi thanks for your replies - I rang the tech. no. for Kaspersky but was in a queue for over 10mins without speaking to anyone - I haven't got the money or patience !!! and considering I've only got 34days left of a service that I've had probs with since day one, and have got worse over the last month, and has now left my computer without any protection, I'm just going to remove Kaspersky today and try something else later today. Maybe I've just been unlucky? but it's certainly put me off using Kaspersky again! Will now have a look at some of the ones you've suggested. Quote
Andrea31 Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 Following on from that, I'm thinking of going with Eset, but is there a Kaspersky 7.0 removal tool? On the info when I bought it, it just says remove in Add/Remove but I remember the year before when I had Norton, there was a link to a Norton removal tool to ensure removed completely. Have googled it and looked on Kaspersky site but am really confused! Please help me, and my computer!!! Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) Hi Andrea, Norton comes so deeply embedded in so many new machines that is is difficult to remove all traces and that is the purpose of the removal tool. Kaspersky was added by you after the fact and its removal should be pretty straight forward. Once you are finished you can look for any traces by a simple search.
