Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Re: replace a dc Hello, do you have another DC ? Does it hold FSMO role ? No you won't. You will need to first demote this DC and cleanup AD. -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU English blog: http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com French blog: http://www.lotp.fr "nicolas29" <nt29@community.nospam> wrote in message news:A41913A6-DAC3-47BE-AFB9-DBD9520B624E@microsoft.com... > hello > > i have a dc how is afile server too, that i need to replace > > for me if he was just file server, i could just take off the old, rename > the > new server with the name of the old server and that all > but confirm me, that, because he is a dc too, i cannot do that > > thanks .... > -- > nt
