beatz100 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Hi i've recently had my laptop returned from the local PC wizard. I was encountering the blue screen of death amongst other issues. On return things seemed to be OK for a while, a few items had been deleted or installed but nothing to be concerned about. A few weeks ago I was prompted to install some windows updates which I did. Now every other time I start up my laptop the screen comes up with the message "Configuring updates 1 of 3 xx% complete, do not turn off your computer. After going through this procedure it then tells me there are files waiting to be burned to disc (these files were burned to disc months ago). That about sums up the issue. The machine is an ACER ASPIRE 5310. I'd really like to get rid of all the pre loaded items on the desktop and start again but don't know how to do this. I've started transfering files I need to a memory stick for safe keeping. Any helpfull info would be appreciated Thanks beatz100 Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Go back to the Wizard, ask him exactly what he did then tell us. Quote
