Hi

We have a standard wallpaper set via GPO accross our domian, I have set the

'Enforce Removal of Remote Desktop Wallpaper' GPO to prevent the wallpaper

displaying over Remote desktop as we are having performance issues. But it

doesn't do anything?? the wallpaper is still there.

Thanks

Re: Enforce Removal of Remote Desktop Wallpaper doesn't work?

Hi David,

Please describe your environment in more detail so I

can investigate. Things like OS versions of your

servers, TS servers, PCs, how you have your Group Policy

configured (Is your TS in a separate OU).

Are your referring to users connecting to their workstations

with Remote Desktop or are you referring to users

connecting to a Terminal Server? By default wallpaper is

not displayed when connecting to a 2003 TS.

Are you sharing roaming profiles between your workstations

and the TS?

Have you used gpresult, regedit or similar methods to see if

the setting is being applied?

Thank you.

Re: Enforce Removal of Remote Desktop Wallpaper doesn't work?

Hi

Our environment is, Windows 2003 servers, Windows XP Pro workstations. We

are using Remote Desktop for Administrators to connect to users pc's and

to servers.

Users are not connecting to TS and we don't use roaming profiles. The default

company wallpaper is set via GPO and the same policy is used to switch off

the Enforce Removal of Remote Desktop Wallpaper in Computer Configuration/Administrative

Templates/Windows Components/Terminal Services.

I have used GPresult and the setting is enabled.

Thanks

David

Hi David,

While I am researching this issue please remember that you

can disable wallpaper on the Experience tab of the Remote

Desktop Client (uncheck Desktop Background). That way

when you connect the wallpaper will not be shown.

Thanks.
