Print dialog window not popping up for Terminal Services users

Recommended Posts

We are experiencing a problem where our Terminal Services users do not get

the traditional print window when printing. . .when they go to File / Print

it immediately prints the document and doesn't show the print dialog window

allowing them to choose the printer.

It works for anyone in the Administrators group though, but not Domain

Users. We are using Windows 2003 server with the users using Windows XP.

Re: Print dialog window not popping up for Terminal Services users

Hi,

Does this occur from *any* program? For example, what

happens if they try and print from Notepad?

What is the printer make/model, and which driver name

and version are you using?

Is this printer an autocreated printer that is attached to the

local PC, locally installed on the TS, or a network printer

(when I say network printer I am *not* referring to a locally

installed printer with a tcp/ip port)?

You can run Process Monitor as an administrator and then

watch for errors that occur when a user attempts to print.
