Roaming profiles and terminal server

Hi All,

in my Windows 2003 active directory I've implemented roaming profiles for

the users. I want that when the users log on via terminal services, they

don't download their profile, I wish to enable roaming profiles only if they

log on locally. Is it possible?

Hi Andrea,

Make sure you configure terminalservices profiles for all users. This

profile is only used when the user connects to a terminal server. You

can enable this in the user properties in Users and Computers on the

windows 2003 machine. It is best practice to keep your profiles

seperated from your terminal services profiles.

Hi,

In the Group Policy Object for your TS, enable "Only allow

local user profiles". This will prevent roaming profiles from

downloading to your TS. Normally you would have your

TS located in its own OU so that it is separate from your

other computers/servers.

The setting is located in the Group Policy Object Editor here:

Computer\Admin Templates\System\User Profiles

-TP
