Tootech Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Can you let us know a little more about your PC. Is it a new build, or upgraded, or shop bought ( make & model would be useful) Also, the DVD writer, is that new? Has it worked ok in the past? Sorry there are lots of questions, I guess there are so many possibilites. The more information we have, the better we are able to help you. Quote

RandyL Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 DVD's are huge. If you are putting a lot of data on it then 20 to 30 minutes is fast not slow. I've burned movies using Roxio that took a lot longer. I don't know why burning music CD's causes a crash. Are you for sure using a CD and not a DVD? What file type is the music source? Where did you get the music? Nero 9 is out so I have to ask did Nero 8 ever work and if so how long have you had it. I am not a fan of Nero and don't have it. I'm just asking basic questions in hopes that a member will be able to help. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. Dalo Harkin Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 It also depends on the speed of the CD/DVD - the writer may be capable of 16 or 18 speed but if you are burning to 4 speed disks then you will have a problem - you can only burn at the maximum speed of the disk. a 16x DVD disk and drive takes me about 6-8 minutes :D (you may also need a firmware update if the disks are a fast speed and they are burning slower than they should) Also some versions of NERO do not play nicely with certain OS's Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
