Hi Colin

Are both the disks OEM or full versions of XP?

Hi Colin,

Would it be right to say that your XP Pro CD's are different?

Can you let us know if the PC's are home built or factory built, and what is printed on the CD's.

One is factory built other is home built i think i got them both secondhand with all the software on blank disks i have the keys and both update ok from MS one is version 2002 and the other i dont know that is why i want to know if i can find out what cd goes with what pc

Hi Colin,

Not sure what you mean by blank discs?

If you go into your control panel and click on "sytem" it will tell you what version of XP you are running it should also give you the OEM number for your factory pc.

Great Colin,

You might want to look around the forums we have quite a bit of information on formatting. If you run into any problems just post a new thread.

Do you mean the versions of XP were on blank disks?

Hi Alumna,

I do not want to get lost in semantics here. My advice to you is based on my understanding that you have 2 legitimate versions of XP and 2 seperate PCs and were unable to determine which set belongs to which machine.

If I am wrong you may run into some real difficulties using these discs.
