Guest Ean Wilson Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Running Server 2003 SP2. If I right-click on any shortcut on my system, go to properties, then click the Find Target button, nothing happens. All other functions work, it's only the Find Target button that seems "dead". I've tried every shortcut I could find (on the desktop, within folders, etc..). Might there be a simple registry key/value that got accidentally altered/deleted that would cause the Find Target button in a shortcut's property window to not function? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am enjoying the "new" functionality of finding shortcut targets. The Find Target... button in the properties window of shortcuts is still not working, but now that I have an alternative, I can eat and sleep once again. :) Someday I'll find out how to fix it though. Until that day, thanks again for the alternative.

Guest Ean Wilson Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Re: Shortcut - Properties->Find Target button I can't use "lusrmgr.msc" because I'm running Windows Server 2003. I will create a new user account and try the "Find Target" button under those credentials. I'll post back with my results. "Dave Patrick" wrote: > Did you try logging on as a new user? Guest Dave Patrick Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Re: Shortcut - Properties->Find Target button I don't think its an easy fix. You may need to do a repair install.
