I have a Sharp laptop with built in 802.11b. The antenae light is on but the PC is not showing any wireless connections. Message says "cable unplugged. It worked previously. We have a Linksys router. Recently we added a new desk top with VISTA. My connection has worked since the new purchase. Is my laptop wireless broken and will need to be replaced? I can connect ok with a cable but it gets pretty crowded at the desk. Appreciate any help. Thanks

It could be a number of things - do you need to assign the MAC addresses into the router to gain access to the net?

Do you have any type of encrytion on the router like a WEP key?

There should be options to connect wireless in the task bar - have you changed anything on the system?

You can goto network connections in control panel and see whats happening and try and re connect
