Windows 2003 removes bat and msi files from zip on extract

Hi,

My Windows 2003 server removes .bat and .msi files from zip files when I

extract them. I thought this behavior may be related to Data Execution

Prevention (DEP) so I set it to - only for essential Windows services. But,

I still have this issue.

What may be the cause? And, how can I resolve it?

Thanks

I've never seen this happen & doubt it's related to DEP.....please provide

full details of the steps you're following, whether you're using a third

party zip application, exact symptoms. Also, your antivirus software.

Re: Windows 2003 removes bat and msi files from zip on extract

I am using default compression/ expansion that comes with Windows. I have no

AV on the server. The files in question are SharePoint webparts with a .bat

file or .msi to install them.

The reason I mentioned that the culprit may be Windows is because when I try

to run the .bat or .msi from within the zip I get a message

- Windows has found this file to be potentially harmful and blocked access

to it.

And, when I try extract it out of zip it disappears.

Thanks
