Guest Klamsi Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Hello, Our Domaincontroller (win2k server) crashed and has been taken out from lan. But login at the clients (w2k) is still possible using the domainname in the login dialog. Surprise, surprise!! Sorry, I'm used in administrating windows domains and I didn't found the right hints in forums solving my problem. I excepted, that login wouldn't be possible, when no DC is available! Thank for your help! Axel

Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Re: domain without domaincontroller???? Hello, you are logging using cached credentials. Try with an account on a computer that never logged on before, and you won't be able, except if you have another DC, which doesn't seem to be the case. By default, 10 accounts per computers can be used for cached credentials (the 10 last logged on) -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU English blog: http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com French blog: http://www.lotp.fr "Klamsi" <axwild@web.de> wrote in message news:1192376292.255655.88450@v29g2000prd.googlegroups.com... > Hello, > Our Domaincontroller (win2k server) crashed and has been taken out > from lan. > But login at the clients (w2k) is still possible using the domainname > in the login dialog. > Surprise, surprise!! > > Sorry, I'm used in administrating windows domains and I didn't found > the right hints in forums solving my problem. > I excepted, that login wouldn't be possible, when no DC is available! > Thank for your help! > Axel >
