Problems with TS Web Access in Server 2008

Hi,

Using Windows Vista together with Server 2008 I can connect to Terminal

server using ordenary RDP, but I can't get the Aplication page in the TS Web

Access page (Working from the server). I get the following error:

"ActiveX control not installed

The Terminal Services ActiveX Client control is not available. You must

install this ActiveX control before you can access RemoteApp programs

through TS Web Access.

The ActiveX control is included with the Remote Desktop Connection 6.0

client update. You can learn about this update and download the installation

package by visiting this website.

After you install the package, you must refresh this Web page to see the

list of RemoteApp programs."

Someone know what might be the problem?

I have to add that as I am testing out Server 2008 this is my second install

(First one was deleted), and that the TS Web Access was working the first

time, and that the ActiveX Client was installed the first time, and still is

active.

>From what I understand, you now have to be running Vista SP1 or later

(the SP is in RC or Beta I think) and you have to be running version

6.1 of the RDP client to use this feature. I really hope MS plans to

support earlier versions, otherwise we're sticking with Citrix.

Let me know what you find and if that fixes it for you! Also, you may

have to put the computer in your "Local Intranet" security group

within IE to make this work. I can't remember if doing that was what

fixed it for me or not...

Re: Problems with TS Web Access in Server 2008

Hi,

I suspect that SP1 for Vista is required as well, or at least RDP 6.1. I

have been trying to get both but with no luck.

I have found out that this problem is with the RC0 of Server 2008. The first

installation I had was with Server 2008 Beta 3, this works without SP1 and

RDP 6.0!!! Is this a bug, or is it with intent that MS have made this

change?

I agree with you that they will have to be compatible with earlier versins

as well.
